Electronics collection/recycling event set
An electronics collection and recycling event sponsored by Shred Monster Inc., of Columbus, will be held from 4-6 p.m. Friday and from 8 a.m.-noon Saturday at the northwest corner of U.S. Highway 81 and 48th Avenue.

Mt. Carroll Rotary Club
50 square dancers from 12 area clubs and local caller, Tommy Russell from Eldridge, Iowa, danced across Canada and the New England states for 10 days beginning August 2. Their destination and goal: Plattsburg, New York to visit and dance with fellow dancers, Tim and Paula Schares formerly from DeWitt, Iowa who had moved out east two years ago.

We Americans are getting better at recycling, and one of our bigger successes is with paper. Little understood though, is that not all paper can be recycled, and I am not necessarily referring to the kind of paper, but rather its configuration.
